Our story
A practice built on continuity.
Dr. Tim Wiater opened the first Michigan Orthopaedic Rehabilitation clinic in 2012after years of watching patients get bounced between therapists at larger practices. He wanted to build something different: a smaller, doctorate-trained team where the clinician who evaluates you is the same one who treats you, every visit, all the way through to discharge.
The practice has grown to two locations — Royal Oak and Troy — and a clinical staff that includes Board-Certified Orthopaedic Specialists, Certified Hand Therapists, a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, STOTT-certified Pilates instructors, and a Blood Flow Restriction-certified PT. The mission hasn’t changed: exceptional physical and occupational therapy in a compassionate, professional environment by skilled, expert therapists.
What makes us different
- One therapist, start to finish. Continuity is the difference.
- Doctorate-level clinicians. Every PT on staff holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
- Evidence over template. DorsaVi wearable-sensor data, Blood Flow Restriction, manual therapy — chosen for you.
- Real movement, not just exercise. Pilates and personal training integrated into rehab and beyond.
- A small practice that knows your name. Front-desk staff who recognize you by visit two.
Our specialty equipment
We invest in what helps you recover faster, not what looks impressive on a tour. That includes DorsaVi wireless wearable sensors that capture how you actually move (the same sensors Olympic and professional athletes use), Blood Flow Restriction training equipment that rebuilds strength after surgery without overloading healing tissue, and a fully outfitted STOTT Pilates studio with reformer, mat, Cadillac, chair, and barrels at our Troy location.
